The 2012 Heritage Festival of Saskatoon will highlight the sports, recreation, and leisure of Saskatoon and area with the theme Saskatoon PastTimes: See How We Played!  The festival is on Sunday, February 5, 2012, 12 – 5 pm at the Western Development Museum, 2610 Lorne Avenue

Get transported back to an earlier time!  We invite you to become familiar with our rich heritage through the variety of heritage themed displays & interactive exhibits throughout the museum.  Come at noon and join in the opening parade!  Try your hand at rope making, nib pen & ink, and wheat grinding.  Take a sleigh ride or brush up on your “home skills”.  Don’t forget to stop by the photo booth!  These and other hands-on activities & demonstrations are offered throughout the day.  Entertainment on two stages features performances by fantastic children’s entertainers, dancers, singers, and musicians.   Free Admission to the Museum and Festival.

Hosting an exhibit at the festival is a wonderful opportunity to promote interest in, and knowledge of, our city’s history and to showcase your organization.  Last year’s attendance surpassed 2300 people.  We are currently accepting exhibitors.  Please visit the Exhibitor Information page for further details.

The Heritage Festival of Saskatoon gratefully acknowledges the financial sponsorship of  the City of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Lotteries, Information Services Corporation, SaskTel, and the Children’s Discovery Museum on the Saskatchewan.

We appreciatively recognize the in kind sponsorship of the Western Development Museum, Meewasin, Pro Print, SaskTel Mendel Art Caravan, The Giggle Factory, PotashCorp WinterShines, and SCYAP.
